| Hi-Point moving forward with new venture
A new heating, ventilation and air conditioning program set to begin Feb. 19 was highlighted at Wednesdays regular meeting of the Ohio Hi-Point Board of Education. The program is offered at the Urbana South Campus, located in the former armory located along U.S. Route 68, north of Urbana. Jon Whitsett, instructor, outlined the course curriculum, requirements and opportunities offered to adults. At least 20 adults have expressed interest, he said, and are applying for admission. New partnerships are being formed with local businesses which are helping in various ways, such as donating equipment and offering job opportunities after program completion. High School Director Nila Marquard briefed the board on the Hi-Point Hi-Tech program set from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb.
The winter of our content
But Jimmy Cone's betting there are enough who think otherwise to keep his latest business venture, Cone Farms LLC, growing. Cone — or, more precisely, his old friend Garry Koettel, who manages the farm's daily operations — raises organic heirloom tomatoes in a half-acre greenhouse just this side of Sheridan. They're a high-end, niche product, currently retailing for $5 a pound at the Fresh Market store in West Little Rock, but less than a year into things, demand is so strong that the farm's 6,000 plants can't keep up. Tomatoes aren't naturally a winter crop, of course, and those imported from warmer climates are infamous for their resemblance to cardboard. But Koettel insists that Cone Farms' 'maters are different because they are genuinely vine-ripened, not picked green and treated with ethylene gas to change their color.

Murders, misdemeanor battery cases fill dockets at courthouse
In addition to the felony murder charges, Hall also faces 17 other counts, including attempted murder, driving under the influence, unlawfully taking a vehicle, evading and assaulting a peace officer and assault with a deadly weapon by means likely to produce great bodily injury. At the time of the crashes, records show Hall was on probation for battery on a sheriff's deputy. Hall faces a possible sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole if convicted. At the Antelope Valley juvenile courthouse, one family will be protesting bright and early, hoping to get their message across to the courts that teens who commit murder should be tried as adults. A fitness hearing is scheduled today to determine whether two minors are fit to be tried as adults for the murder of a 22-year-old Palmdale man.
Like, OMG! Chevy Goes Green With the Jonas Brothers!
Yes, they're huge — like High School Musical big, but we're not usually ones to cover the Jonas Brothers everyday since, you know, we're a bit older. We're more into the OMG 90210 reunion with Kelly and Dylan! Unfortunately looking at Luke Perry makes me feel old. Thankfully Jennie Garth still looks fabulous - must have been all that dancing. Adorable Abigail is always a favorite since seeing her just brings a smile to our faces. Kate Beckinsale was also at the event at Disney but she was covering up her pretty face more than normal this time around. Bella wants to know, do you love or hate Kate's look? Either way, she doesn't look all that thrilled to be green with Chevy. For a lot more pictures from the event which includes a Baldwin, Jim Belushi, Wayne Brady and more just read more .
